From The Volunteer State to The UK

District 6760 of the Rotary Club selected a team of four young professionals from Tennessee, accompanied by a team leader, to go on an international vocational exchange to Rotary Club District 1270 in England. The team will explore professions related to their own while gaining a broader understanding of British culture, history, and society. Follow the team as they prepare for, travel to, and adventure in England.

Thinking of the Future

"I never think of the future- it comes soon enough." -Albert Einstein,

I guess today is as good a day as any to start posting on this blog. I keep thinking "I can do it tomorrow," but before I know it, I will be on a plane, headed for England! I will think of this post as my champagne bottle crashed against the bow of a great ship, a christening of a journey. My name is Elizabeth and I am one of the five team members selected by the Rotary Club to go on a Group Study Exchange. We are headed to England! We will be speaking to Rotary clubs in District 1270 and meeting with people whose vocations are similar to our own.

Our team has already met several times, learning about the process and getting to know each other. We will meet again at least once, if not twice, more before we depart for England.

I am looking forward to traveling overseas, meeting new people, and learning about the culture in northeastern England! I hope to keep up with contributing to this blog over the course of our trek across the pond, as I know my teammates do, too!
